Sailfin Tang Sick!

Help! My Sailfin Tang is sick! He was sucked onto a powerhead when I woke up this morning (now that I think back to last night, he didn't look so good). I put him into a different tank and he's just floating at the top. He is having a very hard time breathing. He basically closes his gills and opens them again quickly twice in 3 seconds. What can I do?!?!

Params are all fine. 0, 0, 0. Phos is .025 or so. 180g mixed reef.

I did lose 2 anemones over the last 2 weeks (Every time I put an anemone in the tank it dies within 12 hours.) I got every bit of them that I could find out of the tank. It appears to have gone through the powerhead (it was just fine last night... so I don't get it.)

Nothing. Its probably to late. Moving a very sick fish to another tank, in my experience, is to much stress and the end. Sorry

The anemone's dying sound very suspicious. What kind of lighting do you have? Have you used any copper based treatments in the past?

Never any copper. I never use anything in the DT. I have several other inverts in the tank which are doing very well.
I have 3 125w LED fixtures. Anemones wouldn't die within 12 hours or less due to lighting.
All my other fish are doing 100% fine.

Didn't mean to sound harsh. No, don't let him get sucked into the powerhead. Any fish that is sucked into a power head is one of two issues, fish is in really bad shape, or powerhead is way to powerful.

I can't tell you why the sailfin would have gone down hill.

i agree i have hardly ever had fish come back after they are at that level.. i have tried meds... etc.. many times its just easier to wait it out and have a great excuse to go fish shopping
