salifert alk test

hi guys I ordered a salifert alk kit from you along with some other stuff and i am having a problem with it.The dye that comes with the kit does not change the color of the water at all.So i cant tell when the water changes from blue-green to pink. I spoke with another guy who has the same kit and he says when he adds the dye it changes the water to a very dark blue so something is wrong with my kit. Is it too late to return it for one that actually works? my date of order was 5/2/04 and my order id was 35225.
