Anyone want to give an opinion what this reads. Sorry about the yellow ambient light but the color shade in the vial is on from what I saw with my eyes.

IMO that's just about at 0.5... maybe a touch less. A good therapeutic level, IME. I actually tend to run it a bit lighter.

Thank you Peter.............that level was supposed to be .35 by me dosing per mls.

I guesstimated I started at .15. I had to do a re-start because after around 10 days the levels dropped.........grrrrrr.

I have nothing but two sponge filters and a pvc pipe in the tank. I talked to a SeaChem rep previously to starting this and he told me the copper levels won't drop.

Where it went I'm not sure?

Added another .7mls to get me to .40 based on dosing and the reading below is where I'm at now.

This shot is with the window sun at my back and kitchen light from above.

The first was just the kitchen lights from behind my shoulder. You can tell it shows lighter based on ambient light.

I know that Seachem states that the copper levels don't drop over time, but that has not been my experience. It is for this reason that it is recommended to check levels daily to make sure you are maintaining therapeutic levels. Checking in the evening before lights out is the best time, since theronts emerge after dark.

+1
I've found Seachem's Cu test to be better/easier. It's always been hard for me to read Salifert's - the hues just don't seem to match well.

Thank you for the responses everyone..........I chose the Salifert kit because of a few of the reefers I respect on here used it.

I also did a lot of research on the Sea Chem kit and about the ambguity of it's readings and also about getting the powder on the stick not easy to consistently apply.

I'm just trying to get a basline with pictures and wanted some other opinions, from people that haved used this kit.

I may pick up a Sea Chem kit to cross check.

Did you ever get a feel how much it went down per day when you were dosing?

No, unfortunately not. Before I knew to test every day, I noticed symptoms about 2 weeks into treatment. Upon testing, I discovered it had dropped to below 0.35mg/L.

It seems that copper gets absorbed by anything porous like rock and pottery. It has been recommended that only PVC or plastic items be used for fish to hide in... IMHO & FWIW

HOPPY EASTER ALL!!!
