I have a Sybon refract. It gets the job done, but the calibration tends to drift around a bit. I use the Pinpoint 53 ms fluid to calibrate it each time I use it.
If I get another refract it will be either a Vital Sine or VeeGee, both are true seawater refracts. Available from DrsFosterSmith and The Filter Guys.
Look at a Vee Gee Refractometer. This one is for seawater and you can calibrate it with RO/DI water. Clear optics. I got mine from aquarium specialty but filter guys sell it also and so does foster and smith to the tune of ~$100.00.
