Salinity vs. Alkalinity, pH and Ca

Well if you've got 600 gal then to drop your salinity by 7ppt you'd need to remove 120 gallons in one go and replace it with freshwater. That doesn't sound very realistic to me.

I have seen tanks with similar low salinities work before. Whether it's better I do not know

So chemically, even new corals like it - if sps polyp expansion is an indicator

It's possible that I'm exporting more than 0.5gals. I have a 2qt bucket that I check on daily and it was getting full to overflowing by midnight.

I haven't checked if it's full earlier in the day.
