Sally Light Foot Crab

Has anyone had any problems with a SLF? I purchased one, and have heard good things about their grazing abilities...let's face it, they are cool to watch too! My neighbor read something in a book today about their behavioral changes in adulthood. They start to attack corals, nems and catch smaller fish to eat. Does that sound right to anyone? I have heard that because they are grazers, that they will step on your corals, but for the most part have a great temperment. Please, any feedback good or bad will be appreciated.

Learning every day!

I think they are another " Hit or Miss" invert. Some people have no issues with them and others have the problems your neighbor mentioned.
I got one of the lucky ones I guess. Got him as a tiny little thing as part of a cleaner crew 2 yrs ago. He has grown monstrous and molts on a reg basis and just gets bigger. So far it has bothered no corals, fish, shrimp, snails or the like. Most of the time you really dont see him unless its crawling up the back of the tank picking at algae or in the rock work somewhere. Really dont see it out in the open much except at feeding time when I`m feeding the tank.
Good luck ever catching one easily though as these guys are very fast movers.

i bought two of them for the first time ever and i was impressed how much algae they can eat. even some brown algae that nothing else touched it. so i went and ordered 10! cant wait to receive them.
