are sally light foot crabs reef safe?

i had one a long time ago when i cycled my first tank. it did a great job of eating algae. I was wondering if they would be fine with fish, inverts, and corals? has anyone ever had problems with them? i have smaller fish clowns, wrasse, chromies...

thanks

I have three large ones and I believe one of them or more have picked off a few small fish of mine. I have seen them go after my flameback. Have tried for months to remove them. Originally had four and got one out. I know that eat a lot of algae, but I will never get one again, unless I have all larger fish.

the way i got my last one out was wich a long slinder poker. i stuck him right through the body and got him out easliy.

so do you think i would be ok with one until the algae that i want gone is gone? or is it too risky for my clowns and wrasse.

i have had the clowns and wrasse for 3 years and dont want to loose them. i could care less about the chromies.

I think you will be fine. I haven't seen mine catch a fish, just a theory and I have seen it snap at the flameback. Like everyone said, just feed them a bit. I believe I lost a tiny chevron to one and hence my desire to rid my tank of them.
