Went to the LFS, its kind of a hole in the wall type...they were only able to test for Ca as they were unwilling to open a new test kit for alk and they don't even have mag test kits. I used my Elos and my Salifert for mag so at least from those two kits I was very close...within 50 ppm on the mag. Anyways, the Ca came out within 20ppm of my Salifert readings on both the make-up water and the tank water. The alk was the least of my worries as the readings were high, but not horribly high. Soooo, now that I have confirmed the readings I am off to make a batch of just the Instant Ocean Reef Crystals and see what I get. I think I may be setting the opened Red Sea Coral Pro aside and not using it anymore. I just ordered the ESV...now off to order a nice scale and get down to business with some quality salt.
