salt not dissolving...

I never experienced this before, when I was doing my regular 5 gallon salt mixing, two days went by and the salt did not dissolve and stayed milky and water did not clear up. what is up with that? I use reef crystals btw, and use a powerhead to mix.

anybody know what I did wrong?

Is the water too cold?

my room gets pretty warm and the water was 81 last time I checked with the powerhead

Did you add the salt to a little water, then add more water?

no I added the salt when the bucket was 3/4 full, then added some more salt and water after a day had passed because my refractometer was telling me there was barely any salt. But then I realized it was because the salt did not dissolve properly. oh well I'm trying agin.

Not quite sure your salt isn't dissolving. I usually dump all my salt in at once, and it dissolves just fine. Did you dose your water with calcium, magnesium, or alk? Is it possible that you added to much of those, and they are precipitating out?

I think I figured out why, I went to get crystal geyser ro/di water from nugget instead of my usual safeway ro/di water. I switched back to safeway and it dissolved just fine. stupid nugget ro/di water!!!
