What's everyone's opinions on the Red Sea Salt Regular and Pro? From lots of research I've found that this is rated right behind the Tropic Marine mix...

My worry about the pro is that the alk is a bit high for a mixed reef. What is your thoughts/opinions on possibly mixing the regular/pro to get a little lower of a alk?

No one on this?

Been using Red Sea Regular. Very happy with the salt, plus I buy it at my LFS in the 200 gallon Commercial bag for $51. If you like the other numbers in the Pro you can just add some muriatic acid to lower the alk.

Why isn't D-D H2Ocean Magnesium Pro PLUS Salt on the list?

I honestly forgot to add it and was not intentional. I did not add all salts but was trying to reach most of the mainstream salts...If you fill out poll and outline the template then everyone should see it properly....

I think I might cut the W/C back to about 35 gallons every second week and I've also been thinking about switching to Reef Crystals.

Since the thread was revived I went ahead and started two 44 gallon brutes filling with RO/DI water last night. I'll do a test with 1/2 regular red sea and 1/2 red sea pro and test for calcium, mag, and alk with a Salifert test kit. I've got my fuge starting the cycle but am about due for a partial water change since my system is not plumbed and ready for water yet:(

I have used Coralife for many years. Good salt and inexpensive. I have a lot of the t-shirts that comes with the bucket!! :D

Switch over from SeaChem Sea Reef to Seachem Aquavitro about six months ago and the livestock loves the switch over.

It's a little pricy, but well worth the extra cost.

Can anyone supply mixing levels of Mg,Cal, and Alk on these salts. Just wondering which brand of salt is close spot on with the levels youd like to keep in an SPS dominant tank.

The Red Sea Salt/Pro are listed below. Mixing them about 50/50 is my plan but I'm still working on my system build. Should have ~350 gallons of it up and running soon as I've been doing the first FW test yesterday/today. This salt is priced right and I'll be running ~1000 gallon system after it's all said and done.
