Salt water vanished

I'm trying to figure out how the title of this thread has anything to do with the fish dying?

GL, and slow down and try to do some research on fish sizes and appropriate tank sizes. I'm guessing the 3 fish you got were stressed in a smallish tank and got ich rather rapidly causing death.

There's a file up top of the forum called SETTING UP, the one with the red arrow. That will give you some good info and help you set up safely. Marine fish are not uncommonly accompanied by parasites: the qt process gets rid of those. And keeping the tank chemistry in balance is not hard, but it requires some tests. Always check the adult size of the fish you are looking at. In the case of the naso tang, that's up to one foot six inches, and they grow fast, as within a year or two.

The fish place told me to keep my salinity at 102.6 and that all the fish should be fine. I have the water test kit from the freshwater tank i had and was told that it is okay to use because it is the same except for ammonia. & I will be reading through the setting up tank as well thank you !!

All my fish died. Slowly within a week they were all gone and it is a saltwater tank but i'll be more specific next time !

Some of my test have slightly different colors for salt and fresh (include both cards). Not that I can ever match up the freaking color to the card anyway

I am sorry to tell you that you jumped into this hobby without the proper education and knowledge. Please buy a book or two and educate yourself, before you buy any more livestock.

Gosh however did I manage to start a tank without buying a book?! Oh, I know, the internet, specifically this site. Shocking I know..

The stickies on the top here are great for helping start a tank right. And I'd put up a post and look through the disease forum. They would know best about black ich.

Yeah this is a bit unfair. I took advice from my fish store when starting. Orbit marine light, canister filter etc. I told them I wanted to do everything right. So the op asked "the experts" and followed their advice, the people at the fish store. Makes sense for someone starting out to do that. Not like he went and bought a bunch of fish without asking questions. He just asked the wrong people. He could buy a book and the book not be good either. Or get advice on the Internet and it be crap too.

To the OP this site is full of good people with good advice. But everyone can post and people have differing opinions. The stickies are excellent and if you read through enough threads you will figure out which people good very sound advice.

Good luck the above advice is very good in my opinion.
