I am not going to start a war by asking what salt mix is the best. I know it is more important to stick with the same salt mix. What I am wondering is there a place I can go to compare the different brands objectivley so I can choose the right one to start with?

More importantly...is there any that I should avoid???

Check this salt study out. There is tons on info on the major brands of salt. As far as which salt to avoid? Depends, many people have different results from different brands of salt. You should choose a brand that is readily available to you at a good price.

I am using the BioSea with excellent results. It's rather expensive (actually it's REALLY expensive) but I didn't get into this hobby because I wanted to save money.

What no Poll?

Here is the latest one run on RC but there are more than a dozen others. Which Salt is Best. Historically, IO has always been the winner. That doesn't mean it is the best but it is the most widely used and gets few complaints from its users.
