Unfortunately, yet another store in Western NY has been robbed of coral. This time, the thieves did so in broad daylight. Check out the full news story & video; Coral Thieves Caught on Camera.

Emm, there is a link in the first post that takes you to a local news site.

Let's hope they get caught and get prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Conspiring to steal $300? These are definitely some master criminals. This could have been a sequel to the Italian Job or Oceans 13 (no pun intended).

Obviously a hand picked crew that includes a lookout, a con man, a deep sea diver, and master of disguise (convincingly dressed to appear as a child). I'm sure that this ring also includes a professional driver and a blackmarket dealer with the ability to access to ebay and craigslist via dialup.

I'd look forward to them being caught, but we all know that they'd just use the time in jail to put together the next big heist.

I think this is horrible. I go to saltwater paradise a lot Joe and his wife are one of the coolest people I ever met and for these people to go and steal corals out of all things is retarded and to bring a child to steal makes me sick. I hope they get caught so we no who they are and never conduct any business with saltwater with them. And the mother of that child should be ashamed of this.

My condolences!

My condolences!

This is weird because I was there on Friday! When I did look at that coral tank I did see some corals were missing because of the prices they write on the tank and I was thinking that they made some good sales before I got there! When I was there I purchased a Gonipora coral or Flower Pot coral and its doin great! Saltwater Paradise is usually my go to store! I have bought many things from there and it is usually where I get all my salt from. I hope Joe and Annette can recover from this and I hope they find this "CHRIS" guy! I think the other stores like The Fish Place, A Reef Creation, and Buffalo Coral Reef, should be on the look out because what other stores are there in the area? I feel so bad and like I said before, I hope that whole group is caught!

I really hope that these clowns get nailed for this. Burglarizing and robbing LFS's seriously needs to stop. Can we at least see a little bit of justice similar to my avatar?

Shoplifting is a part of retail. Sad but true. For a shop owner this is a real stab in the back. General public even amongst the hobbyists have no idea about the daily lifestyle and challenges of running a shop. The challenges that shops face on daily basis to keep their doors open, tanks and shelves stocked with good, healthy stuff for the local community and in the end for someone to take. This is nothing new to me. I feel for that family.

Ill let you guys know if I find them in my protein skimmer. What SCUM!

If you need to steal to be in this hobby....maybe it's not the right hobby for you.

Anyone else feeling sorry for that baby?

I worked at a pet store briefly when I was in college. Someone got caught trying to shoplift a parrot under their coat. I guess there were occasions prior to that where people had successfully shoplifted birds. Insane.

The owner of Saltwater Paradise tells News 4 that four people returned the stolen coral on Thursday. The Australian coral, which is worth hundreds of dollars, appears to be dead.

Just lovely.
