Saltwater Proposal

I got this email from Mia at Downtown Pets. I think I got it because I was selling something there at the swap & that's how she got my email addy. I would think this should be open to any of you guys.

Hello everyone,

This is Mia from Downtown Pets, we held a frag swap in early December '06 and met all of you. I have sort of a business proposal I wanted to discuss with you. To start from the beginning, Adam and I have another business, The Affluent Group of Companies. It includes wealth management, real estate, investments and mortgages. For the past couple months we have had the entire store for sale because The Affluent Group has been demanding of our time. As you know it takes a special person to maintain a saltwater system & the fish room has scared off quite a few potential buyers. For this reason we are asking if you, a group of you, would be interested in taking over the fish department as your own. It is completely yours to do as you wish. Sell your own frags, buy what the other hobbyists are looking for, etc. You are free to use our tax id # to buy at cost or we can assist you in creating your own LLC. For $1500 a month, which is the cost of the square footage for the backroom excluding the maintenance fees, (we'll pay those) you can use out tanks, filters, skimmers, etc. All profits remain yours. I or someone else will be here everyday, you don't need to quit your day jobs, but I do recommend you check on your stuff every other day and plan to be here at least one of the weekend days to sell. You will keep track of your merchandise and will have a separate register in the back.

Please call me at 312-360-1619 for further details and feel free to post this information on threads if you think someone else might be interested.

Thanks for you time,
Mia & Adam

I was at that swap. We must have met, as I talked with every vendor, but I have no idea which person you were. Where were you set up?

Isn't there a pet store somewhere in town that has the fish store run by different people than the pet store?

$1500 a month? that's funny.

Really? $1500 a month sounds incredibly cheap. Rent, utilities, all equipment, and the pet store will execute the transactions with the customers. Seems very cheap to me.

no you have your own register

"You will keep track of your merchandise and will have a separate register in the back"

sounds if'y, looks like they are expanding there
"The Affluent Group of Companies"

"we can assist you in creating your own LLC"
you might want top reread that, if that was the case i'm sure a group on here could of set up a new fish/reef shop that easily

Yes, but "I or someone else will be here everyday, you don't need to quit your day jobs, but I do recommend you check on your stuff every other day and plan to be here at least one of the weekend days to sell". They will handle the transactions for you on your register. So, for $1500 a month, you get a turn key saltwater business with virtually no labor costs.

LET ME EDIT THIS
i called mia
they take care of the basics trash, water, taxes, you still get electric bill, you can name the room what ever you want
but she also said that this frees her time up to sell collars and leashes , and "alot easier to sell that then salt water fish"
