What do you think of the Samsung DSLR?
Before you answer, Samsung and Pentax have join to produce DSLR. All 3 of Samsung DSLR look like (actually is) a Pentax rebadge. Co-developed, rebadged, what-ever you want to call it.

The current sale price of a Samsung GX-1L with lens is about $200 less than a Nikon D50 on a good day.

Maybe the questions should be, are Pentax DSLR good? I've read many on-line reviews for Samsung. Every new buyer always love their new product. There are no history. There was also no history with Pentax DSLRs.

No, the question is, how available are the lenses? What types can you get? How is their quality?

My understanding from the old days, Pentax wasn't bad. Back then it was Canon, Minolta, and Pentax. Nikon was more high end.

I have to echo what MCary said - look at the glass. Cameras get replaced, lenses should last 1/2 of forever. Pick a SYSTEM, not just a camera, that you will stick with for a long time. Personally, I wouldn't venture past Canon or Nikon.

Agreed.

If you ever want to pick up used gear and save a bunch, Canon and Nikon are far more widely available.

Ditto on the lenses vs. body. Body comes and goes, but lenses will stay.

As stated, Samsungs are just rebadged Pentax that uses the K mount. Pentax didn't do too well with the DSLR market. The current partnership with Samsung will change the amount of exposure, but I haven't seen any new breakthrough lens/technology from them yet (vs. Nikon, Canon, or even Sony, with the alpha line).
