Sand Addition

I have a tank with a 2" sand bed. The sand is the sugar sized argonite. Is it ok to add sand to this bed. I will be adding Agramax live sand, but the sand size is 1 - 2 mm instead of the sugar sized.

I am going to the larger sized sand bed because I am tired of getting sand storms, or the sand all at one end of the tank.

Should I just add the larger sand, or should I remove the sand I have and replace it all, not a problem removing it all. I can use the sugar sized sand in a new refurium that I am building.

I would remove it, personally, but adding a thin layer on top should work as well. The buried sand is more likely to produce H2S, etc, though.
