I have a maroon clown fish with a host neon green carpet anemone. The clown constantly digs up the sand bed around the anemone with his tail fin. The sand bed is 4 to 5 inches deep. There is a depression in the sand bed around the anemone so that it is sitting in a creator. The foot ao the anemone is no longer burried in the sand it is just sitting on top of the sand. I can see many worm trails that have been exposed in this area.
Is this constant disturbance of the sand bed hurting or killing the life forms within the sand bed? Is this normal behavior for a maroon clown?
I also have two other carpets that are host to a pair of black and white clowns at the other end of the tank and they never dig up the sand bed.
