I have been reading about sand bed transfers and how they don't work (stirring up nitrates etc.). But everything I read is about upgrading or switching tanks with all the same live stock.
My questions is a little different. I have a 10 gallon refugium attached to my system with a few live rocks and about 3-4" of sand. I want to remove that sand and rock and place into a 35 gal tank that will eventually hold an anemone. My thought is even if I stir up nitrates it will be in the new tank and no different than any other cycle. Only I presume faster. I would add additional sand to the bottom used sand on top and add additional live rock.
Am I thinking this through or am I missing something. Any cons to this on either the new or existing tank?
Thanks Dan
