Sand bed

Hi guys,
I'm looking for advice about sand, so far I had the Ocean Direct sand.
it's looking god and white when its clean but after a week its start looking yellow green, and it's nightmare trying to vacuum the sand etc.

So, any advice for new sand? I heard something about crush shells or something like that, and if not something that will be heavy enough so it wont vacuum easily.

Thanks!

the yellow/green is algae. I think you're going to have this problem no matter what sand you use. maybe you are running high on No3/po4.....

Caribsea special grade reef sand is good..
Avoid crushed coral beds because the grains are way too large.
