i got a few wrasses that dig in the sand, that means its hard to keep my water 100% clear from sand and other junk in the water colum, can this cause sps isues like rtn?

what do people do with those kinds of fish? i got around 0.5-1mm grain size, should i get bigger grain or? ( i realy do like the small grain size the best)

I have not seen issues with sand in the water column besides my blood pressure rising or if the sand is such a mess that it actually covers and lays on the coral for a prolonged amount of time..... I would sugest just get rid of the wrasses..that is why i dont have and sand sifting gobies although i would love to have one..but just dont want to deal with the mess.

well they dont mess that much, its just when they dive into the sand to "sleep" the water colum gets some floating sand in it. I am trying figure out how to do my flow best, so as much of it is going into the sump.

aslong it shouldent be a isue i am gonna keep em.

If you can live with it, I would keep them.. Having critters to stir your sand is actually good for your tank.. It releases stuff from the sand that can be food for your corals, and also gives your mechanical filtration a chance to remove some nasty stuff that you don't want in the tank. I have three wrasses from the Halichoeres family ( 2 green coris and one yellow coris). All three dive into the sand and sometimes make a mess... But, the flipside of that, is that they keep my tank flatworm free! especially the greens.. So, I think that's an awesome tradeoff for a litttle silt in the water a copuple of times a day.. As for the grain size, Wrasses like finer sand. I have coarse substrate and it has taken them some time to acclimate to it.. Now they're fine, but some others I tried did not like the coarse stuff at all..

well i can live with it, as long it dosent mean my sps will suffer. I startet to get a lot of wrasses to be sure that if flatworms or other pest came, they would take care of it, to some level.

i will just keep the suger size sand i got now, i moved the pumps a bit around seems to be alot better today :)
