Sand or no sand?

My friend said he wasn't even entirely sure he still had 150. I guess other fauna in his tank might have eaten some.

No doubt...like everything else we keep in our reef tanks...they are temporary inhabitants...and need replenishment every so often....:lolspin:

I would leave the hobby before I had a reef tank without sand. It just seems unnatural to me. To me that would be the same as having corals without fish. Just my opinion. We all do this for different reasons.

Has anyone done a faux sand bed lately? I thought someone had done this before mixing epoxy with sand.

Id use sand.. looks more natural and you can add animals that live in the sand or use it for homes..once its established you wont have to clean it

Faux sand bed? Wouldn't that eliminate the ability for the sand to be used for anything? No burrowing, no foraging, no bacteria. Nothing. I'm not sure I like the sound of that...
