sand sifters and clams?

i recently bought a sand sifting goby and im concerned with all the sand that is now flying around my aquarium. should i be concerned if some sand gets in the clam? i noticed that the clam will "blow" off some of the sand that gets on the mantle, but every now and then some sand actually gets inside via their open gap area.

any info or advice on this situation will be appreciated, thanks
