My tank has been setup since May and was wondering when is a tank mature enough for a sand star? I used all the live rock from my 75 so i have tons of pods
A brackish Green spotted puffer two clowns and a Tomini tang for fish. inverts are a bunch of assorted snails and crabs as well as blue tuxedo urchin and 3 peppermint shrimp
I switched to a 90gal from a 35gal in Jan my sand star has been with me since the 35 gal for over 2 years now, he's fat as ever. Still have tons of life in my sand bed, I think people read a opinion on the I-net and just regurgitate it w/o seeing it for them selves.
I've never kept one of these, so your personal experience is certainly a valuable perspective.
However, I've read many posts here over the years by people wanting to know why their SS stars are falling apart after being in their tank for a year or more. In a larger tank it can just take longer for the star to starve.
By way of analogy, I've had great success with some hard-to-keep fish. But would not assume from my experience that everyone else is wrong in saying that they're difficult.
