Hey all I was wondering where I can get about 200lbs of dry sand for a build I am doing that won't break the bank. Not sure if this is possible. any help or advice would be great!!!!
You can use the high desert play sand which is found in the outdoor garden center at homedepot. Doesnt look as nice as some of the stuff sold in pet stores but it works.
K-marts usually stock the white kolorscape playsand this time of the year. Those are around $2-5 for a huge bag. A lot of this type of sand is sugar fine, which I've found leads to dust storms in high flow tanks.
ok yea i am still figuring out alot for the tank i know its got the 2 returns and i am putting in atleast my 2 1400's. so not sure if it will cause a dust storm but I want it good for mandarins and what not.
oh i know gary trust me have kept them before and know full well they hunt pretty much 24/7 i planning on seeding the system and letting it grow. just worried about the sand cause i want something fine but something that will look great.
