Sand

Does anyone know if any store(Home Depot, Lowes) here carry aragonite sand, play sand not the really expensive stuff thats says "for marine tanks" I have a big aquarium and I'm trying to keep the cost down since I have been getting some really expensive fish lately.

i think home depot could order you some south down play sand. i hear thats what people use for aquariums

I tried home depot a few times and they told me that they couldn't get it in. I only tried the one on L Street (around 128th and L). There is another home depot up north like on 72nd street I think... I haven't tried there yet, but I assume it would be the same there. Maybe give them a call and see though. Definately keep us posted, Im sure there are quite a few people in the area that would be interested in that. I also heard that the name changed to like YardRight or something like that, but I dont really know about the name, just something I heard once.

They won't order it for me, they really didn't seem to care at the Home Depot looks like I will have to get it from Foster&Smith 4 forty lbs bags at 31.99 and 11.99 shipping for it all.

Well the name of it is "Tropical Play Sand" by a company called YardRight. Still haven't found a place locally, but it helps knowing exactly what its called.
