Sandbed Nephthea

can i keep nephthea on the sandbed?

Its attached to a rock that I was thinking putting in the sand so the nephthea is almost like a tree. I have it on the rock scape now but worried it may grow to the main rocks. I have mostly SPS so if I had to frag it in the tank the toxins would probably be bad for it right?

You can place the sand.
It would be better to remove it from the tank to do any cuttings.

That's what I figured about fragging. I put it on the sand just to it doesn't attach to main rock work. Also how long does it normally take for them to open up after placed in tank

They can take a few days or overnight.
