OK so a quick update
Installed 5/10, you can see the OP picture above. The algae present in that pic was just algae i used from my old ATS to seed the new one and today is 5/26 so 16 days later we have this
And after a quick cleaning to get the thick stuff off we have this
Working well already

oh yeah? I've had good results with one but hey 2 cant hurt

I had the one in the first picture and after a couple of months the magnets started expanding and rusting. I put it in the garbage since I was not sure what kind of magnets they used and what elements where leaching in my tank . I like the idea of ATS but that unit did not work well for me.

yeah mine did the same thing after a year but this model is much much improved
