As far as the skimmer delay goes, the reason i like it is because when i hit the standby button the main return shuts down and the sump fills past the normal running level, and i dump in the food, all the food stays in the display and is blown around by the Tunzes. After my set time for being off the main pump comes online and then the skimmer follows 2 mins later allowing the water level to return to normal so it dosen't flood the cup. I never have to touch the gate valve on the skimmer unless i want to skim wetter.

True Eric but if pricing is similar why not go with a more featured unit that allows for more options in the future. Maybe even consider a AC2 or ACjr. I know I have seen several used AC2 setups posted as of late here on RC. Seen them here for as low as $200 including Aquanotes and some modules. For what I am doing my used AC2 is performing very well and still provides for future. Just my.02

I wanted plug in play, not a hour or more trying to figure it out and the rk2 had everything I wanted and more.
I made the right choice for me based on my wants and needs in a unit.
Plus I prefer new over used
