Saving a Trach Brain

I have a trach brain that i got in mid September, it was fine for a couple weeks and then its been receding since then. I finally got tired of watching it die, so I took from the sand and moved it up on a rock about halfway up through the tank. I saw a bristleworm when I move the coral also. Could the worm caused the recession.

A can't say I know anything about a trach brain. As far as the bristle worm goes, There scavengers and like to hide under rocks and coral when the lights are on. He was probably just hiding until the lights go back off. Tell use some info about your tank. Size, Lights, and water parameters? Theirs not enough info in your post to give you an answer.

Worms can irriate things and cause them to close up, but I dont think it would recede on that alone. Water quality or lighting is the issue with your trachyphyllia most likely.

Its a 75g with a Tek T-5 4 bulb fixture. The parameters are at 0 and have been that way even before I got the brain.

Too much light and flow was causing my Trachy to recede. I ended up moving it from the main tank to the nano. I had the same problem with my orange Fungia, and moved it too. Both are coming back nicely.
