Saving my clownfish & anemone

I have an approximately 5g tank as well. I think a lot of the things people say about them are very exaggerated and blown out of proportion. Yes, you need to research and be VERY thoughtful of what you add to the tank but at the same time, you don't need to do DAILY water changes... the only thing I do daily is feed and add fresh RO make-up water from a bottle. I do weekly water changes of about 1 or 1.5g on my 5g set up. I have a very small amount of carbon in my HOB filter with a home-made airstone skimmer and mound of chaeto.
That being said, I would test the natural sea water you've been using first to see if the problem lies in the source of your water. I would also do the larger water changes of 20-25% weekly. Like someone said, the anemone may like it. If not, I'd say to bring him back to the local fish store than storing him in a "container".

I dont want any of you guys apology, you guys are right about everything ..well that do not matter to me at all..'i just wanted some info here..but anyway i DID what i had to do.I release the anemone and the clown this morning ..at the reef when the tide is low.By the way, i live near the sea with a reef.

Uh.... Im pretty sure thats really bad. Dont we have like a lionfish invasion on another reef because a hobbyist released some lionfish where they are not native? Why didnt you just take it back to the lfs?

Is it a reef where these animals are native? There's a large part of me that is glad you decided to keep anemones and clownfish and not polar bears...

While it is admiralable that you decided to not keep the clowns and anemone after realizing you did not have the appropriate setup for them, I wish you would have brought them back to the lfs instead of putting them unto the ocean. The later would have only been acceptable IMO if your lfs only stocks locally, freshly captured livestock. Where are you located, and what species of clowns did you have? If I remember, you has a Cindy anemone, and unknown clowns (likely percs or ocellaris). These do not occur naturally together, so the region was incorrect for at least one of them. While it is an ocean, releasing non-native species into an area is poor practice. Would if be ok to release a lion into the grasslands of Nebraska? Both are grasslands, but many factors suggest this would be very bad. In my opinion, once in captivity, always in captivity for anything in our tanks.
