Saying HI and a question

Well I thought I would stop in and say HI! I am Wes from Central IL area and have been a member of reef central for a few years but havent really spent much time in the scuba board area. I have my OW cert and have about 11 dives past it. I am currently trying to acquire all the equiptment that i still need so I have a full gear setup. Thanks to tgreene I now have a BC! He was the one that talked me into coming in here! Hopefully I can learn a few things from everyone in here!!!
My question is.... I am going to South Texas (Mcallen and South Padre Island)at the end of Jan and would like to know if there is any good places to dive down there with just OW cert. I know there is some wrecks and stuff but was hoping someone might have dove there already and have some advice for me. Thanks and I look forward to chatting in here!!

Great to finally see you in here!

Find "Luiz Rocha" on here... He's from Port Aransas, TX and could probably help you the best. I think there's at least one other Texan in here too if I recall correctly.
