Sca-301

Epic fail on my part. Ive never owned a skimmer and this thing didnt include instructions.

I turned the pump back around. It seems like it made a difference. I will update my findings. Thanks Mryam!!!!

It wasn't until your last picture that I could see it thru all the bubbles.........LOL

That should fix your problems for sure......glad I could help you out.

Steve

Hey Steve. Here is a fixed shot. But its now bubbling bad like before. Bubbles coming from the top of the adjustment tube again. This skimmer is a headache.

Whats weird is that bubbles are coming out of the top of the adjustment tube. While nothing or very little into the collection cup. Strange!

It sounds as though you have some kind of blockage or restriction inside the body of the skimmer. If you are getting no bubbles at the top of the chamber, that means something is blocking the flow and forcing it out the blue adjustment tube, top and bottom.

Are the holes all clear and clean in the red bubble plate?

I took it apart and cleaned it today. Looks fine now. I think the problem was that the pump was not fully inserted into the skimmers body. The nozzle had come away from the body of the skimmer just a tad. I'm not 100% sure, but I believe that was the problem. Working like a champ again. Hope it stays that away. :lmao: Thanks Steve!!

When I install the pump into the skimmer, I put a couple layers of self sealing tape on the nipple for a nice tight fit.

And I put an elbow on the bottom of the blue pipe to divert the bubble output away from everything..........give them a little more time to pop before hitting the bubble baffle.

I was wondering what that elbow was on your skimmer. Great idea on the tape on the nipple. I may do the same. The first thing I noticed when I opened the box was that the pump would easily disassemble from the skimmer itself. I'm almost positive this is what happened to me.
