Scats in a planted tank?

Hey,

I've read before that some of you guys have had experience with Scats in your planted tanks. How do the plants/macros fair against them? Will they eat caulerpa? Would they keep caulerpa at bay? Are they just a horrible idea all together?

It looks like John has tried them, you see him mention them low in this thread and they came up in the Lagoon fish? thread as well.

But to answer your question, I think these guys might be like the reef associated rabbitfishes. Pretty much open to consuming most greenery they find.

I actually read both of those threads last night. The guys at this brackish forum I lurk at tell me that there's no way in hell they wont eat everything, and I believe it, but the "Lagoon Fish" thread has conflicting information.

I was hoping for some new info, maybe updated.
