ok so i made that up,the syndrome but my clam did die.one day it was healthy and the next no.I picked it up and noticed the foot was gone.whats this mean and why did it happen?

Maybe it was hungry. That's the most common thing I've heard of. If they aren't getting enough to eat they die without any real symptoms before hand.
On the other hand, I had a giga for 4 years and it was fine, then I bought a wild caught one in a rock, thinking it was real cool. After a week it died and the next day the one I'd had for years died too. I've stayed away from them since.
