I started a build thread on my local forum, but thought I would share here as well!

First the equipment list...

Sump Deep Blue 80g 48x24x16, filter socks/skimmer/frag/return
Lights Still undecided. I have narrowed it down to the following options.

2 GHL Mitras 6200 and 4 T5 retrofits
2 250W Radiums with 4 T5 retrofits and possible a couple AI VEGAs for supplement

Skimmer Lifereef SVS2-24 ** run with a Jebao DC9000
Return Jebao DC12000 DC pump **
Flow 2 1" Sea Swirls supplemented with Vortechs**
Calcium Rx GEO 612 **
Media Rx Skimz FM100 **
Controller Apex lite, 2 EB8, VDM, WXM, LSM, Breakout Box **
Sand SSB with Tropic Eden Reef flakes **
Rock BRS Reef Saver and Pukani **

** items are already acquired

I will DIY the stand along the sidewall of my home theater (the reason noise is a concern). The stand will be flanked by two side units with storage in the bottom half (one side ATO tank, other side electronics) and shelving on the top.

Inspiration for the stand

I am still designing the sump but the initial plan is as follows. Using a dual Herbie drain into a filter sock chamber, next to skimmer compartment, then to the fuge, then to the frag compartment and finally the return section. Looks like I can get this all done in the 48" length using a raceway design for the fuge and frag area. I have a spare AI SOL or VEGA I can use for lighting the frag area. I have a dedicated 33l in the fish room for frags, but wanted a place to keep fresh cut frags in the system but out of the display. The lighting will run reverse of the DT so should also help with stabilizing PH.

STOCK LIST

Fish coming over from existing systems
Tailspot Blenny
2 Green Chromis
Red Sea Sailfin Tang
Flame fin Tang
Yellow Tang
Snowflake Clown
Orange spot goby (maybe re-homed)
Chalk Bass
Pair Hawaiian Flame Wrasse
Pair Yellow Neon Goby
Midas Blenny
ORA black assessor

I will be adding additional small wrasses and a school of anthias. Once I am ready to start moving livestock over I will refine my fish list. I do prefer many smaller fish though and will keep the number of larger fish to a minimum.

STAND
Got my stand built. Went with a 2x stand based of RE's plans on RC. Got everything cut, drilled and painted and then assembled the stand in its final spot since it would not fit otherwise. I decided to use 2x6 along the top for an little extra security even though the calculator said the 2x4 would be fine with the center brace. All the wood is painted with Zinnser primer and 3 coats of acrylic enamel cabinet and trim paint. Top board is 3/4" ply. The stand will be skinned and a matching canopy will be made and the entire unit will be finished in an espresso black.

Looks to be a well equipped and thought out system! Looking forward to seeing it come together. Are you using the jebao pumps now? If so how are they doing?

Going to start on the rock scape this weekend and the glass panels for my sump will be ready on Friday as well.

Thanks! I did put a ton of time trying to put together the ideal setup based on my past tanks.

I am using two Jebao pumps right now. A 3000 on my 70 cube and a 12000 on my frag setup. Here is a pick of my Fish Room. The 12000 is running the 33L and 20L on the third bar and that is the max that my overflows will handle.

fun build, and some great pieces in that 70 cube waiting for their new home. good luck with the rest of the setup!
