Schooling Anthias

Looking for advice on really pretty pink dominant Anthias that do well in schools. :)

Thinking about these guys (Bartletts?):

Not sure what these are but look like they could school:

Any thoughts and ID on the above?

The top ones are Evansi's and the bottom ones look like female lyretails to me. The Evansi's are harder to keep then Lyretails, Bartletts, and Dispars, I have Bartlett's and Dispars and have found the Bartlett's to eat anything dropped in the tank. Just make sure you only get one male Bartlett's and 2-6 females since the males will kill one another...I found that out the hard way. The male Bartlett's has purple patch from snout to dorsal fin and the females are lighter in color. They are the only ones I can recommend since I have never had Lyretails.

Okay, will check on that. The top ones are marked as Bartletts but I wouldn't be suprised if they weren't.

The top ones are Bartlett's. I have several and now that one of them has become the dominant male they school very well.

If you have a larger fish in the tank, they will school instinctively when that fish is active or comes close. I have a pair of Crosshatch triggers and my anthias always school when they come close. :)

I'd love a pair of triggers. I'm familiar with the Bluejaw, clown and other triggers and have often heard the term "crosshatch" but think I've ever seen one. Do you have a pic?

Howzit everyone, I just got in my Bartletts. I got 1 male and 5 females in a 120 tank that is 6 ft. long. Right now they are in quarintine and I think the male has the bends (i don't know). They had a rough day, 3 hours sitting on the L.A. airstrip, 1 hour to Portland and 3 hours to my house. I had to special order them since the LFS here doesn't get anthias in unless they are special ordered. I'll let you guys know the progress on them later on.

Oh, btw, do you guys know if Bartletts come out of Hawaii? Sea Dwelling said it did. I'm not sure. Thanks.

Hmmm...I'm thinking those top ones are Evan's also. I don't think barlett's get that much purple into their tails. Evan's can be quite difficult to keep....much more than Bartlett, so I'd make a positive ID before purchasing.

Here's a pair of Bartlett's a recently traded in (man they eat a lot!!) Note the yellow tails on both male and female:

Also, every Bartlett male I've ever seen had the yellow crescent divider through the purple.
