Schooling Chromis

What is a good number of chromis I should put in my 140? I have 6 in there right now... should there be an odd number? anyone have any experience with a good number of chromis?

I used to have 6 in my 90g, 1 died and I dont know if by coincidence but they seem happier.

The whole odd number rule really isn't a good rule to go by. You can have even or add. Only problem is chromis will start to kill each other off in the long run. I have 4 in my 75 that have been together for a good 6 months and follow each other every where.

I have 5 in my 75g and they have been living peacefully for almost 3 years

5 in my 72G for 1 1/2 years.. no problems so far.

For some reason, it seems that green chromis die off either by killing each other or they die mysteriously without ever finding the bodies. I have tried them several times in my 60 gallon reef but Ialways end up with the same one green chromis. I just gave up. Maybe you will have better luck.
