I'll throw out something a little different. Anthias are high maintenance, and often feud but pretty. However, if you want something cheap, easy and a little different might want to try a few fanged blennies. I have a few striped blennies and they get along well with everyone. They max out at around 5". Having poisonous fangs is like having the nuclear deterant. Nobody messes with them and they don't mess with anyone. They're easy to maintain, colorful and cheap. They're water column fish (at least in my tank), so very active, and swim together and play nice. Also are available Ora bred, thus not taxing the oceans. There's other types/colors of fanged blennies but i only have experience with the striped. Oh, and yes i do wear long gloves but the blennies aren't aggressive IME.
