I'm not sure why not many people use this skimmer but i recently took a plunge and bought a Schuran Jetskim 150. All i can say is that this thing is amazing. I took pics that are 7 hours a part to show the skimming performance.

A few complaints on the build quality but well worth it. Also it is a very reasonably priced skimmer.

I bought mine from TheReefStop but the cheapest place you can get them at is CustomAquatics by using the Reefcentral referal coupon.

Gabe, i think the reason these skimmers aren't popular is because the price isn't all that fantastic, there not flashy, and there's only a couple different sizes. And it looks like you may have to supply your own pump for some models.

I have a Jetskim 100 and really like it - it is super easy to tune, the tuning is stable and it produces lots of gunk. The quality seems ok and here in Europe the price is not bad. I have no complaints whatsoever. Mine has broken once, but seems good as gold having been fixed with superglue.
I would think they're not more popular as they are simply not 'sexy', but the Germans seems to like them as they really like venturi skimmers like these.
I guess it's just the logistical hassles why they don't come to you with rewired Eheims - the big models now are recommended tocome with Red Dragons.

Am I missing something or do you have to remove (4) screws to get the collection cup off? If so that would become a pain in a short time. It does seem to be working well for you though.

The collection cup doesn't actually screw in. It just sits on top of the body. All you need to do is pull it off and rinse it. Also that is the only thing you need to rinse routinely, no need to wash the neck.

Definetely, not sexy or impressive looking compared to other skimmers. If you guys take a look at the design there are three chambers and there is practically no bubbles escaping from the water outlet, which i think is one of the reason it performs so well.

Thanks for the info. Do you know what the new models are and also which eheim pump comes with the Jetskim150 in europe? It appears to me that you need the perfect amount of air in the body else the bubbles will escape the internal chamber too fast.
