Anyone have kept Scleronephthya for long term? Heard that they will not survive for very long despite feeding...

So far, I have 3 with me for 5 week now...

That has been my experience. Mine lasted about 6 months then started to shrink. Now they are about 1/2 tall from 6 inches tall. Sad! If your going to try one make sure it is maricultured. Then if it dies you have done no harm to the reef.

I'm at four months with my "oldest" Sclero and still going strong. Sounds like the next 60 days will mark a milestone, one way or the other.

Alex,
I have three Sclero colonies in a 40 breeder. In addition to the return, I have an MP40 at half speed, so water is moving very briskly. One is 4 months old, the other only two months old. They are all looking good. I was target feeding several times a day, but tried broadcast feeding several times in the past week. They seem to inflate more and look better with broadcast feeding, so I'm going to do more of that than target feeding. Don's experience with Sclero makes me a bit nervous.

Thanks for all the feedback... I am doing broadcast feeding of the tank daily for the day portion and some target feeding at night... Hopefully it will do well...

Mine dont seems to inflate and it will only extend its polyps more...

Just a update... They are reacting and feeding on cyclopeeze and also inflating and extending more... Just passed the 2 month mark...
