Where: IHOP, 1001 E 17th St, Santa Ana CA 92701-2546

Topic: Designer Corals
This months meeting we will discuss Designer Corals. Designer corals are all the rage right now. In this meeting we will discuss what makes them so expensive, special care requirements, how to grow, and how blue is too blue.

We will also recap our the first SCMAS field trip of 2018! I am interested to hear your stories as well.

Don't forget to bring your water samples to have them tested by Steve Garrett.

Also, be sure to get your raffle tickets for another amazing raffle!
Grand prizes are an Ecotech MP40 and we also expect a Rhomboid Wrasse!!!

I will be at meeting and bringing the shinny new membership cards for those that have joined so far. If you have not renewed your SCMAS membership you can at any time on the club website, here is a link for the officialscmas.org website.

Remember your membership gets you early access to Reefapalooza California along with many other perks. Support the club that brings you the best Reef Show on the West Coast! Your $30 membership would save you $10 over the $20 per day cost of the show.

See you guys Friday night and I will bring a couple more of my Rainbow Nems for the Raffle.

If any of you have Lime in the Sky an original Greg Carroll piece, the Original Purple Monster, or Pink Jade I am looking for Frags of these I lost last year. My Tank is doing awesome and I am about to do a couple major upgrades. I have been running Radions on my coral Quarantine and my Frag tank and I am about to add 10 Radion G4 Pros over the 400, and switching from Dosing 2 part to a Destaco Calcium reactor. I will pay cash for the frags.

I will try and give a update early next month when these upgrades are implemented.

At The meeting we will also be talking about a Tank Tour that I hope will end at Pirates Cove for lunch in may or June, it is nice to be proud of my tank again!
Who else has a system they are ready to show off?

See you all Friday night!

If you Join the club tonight on the web I will have your card tomorrow night at the meeting. FYI this will be the first time I hand out cards for 2018 for those that have already signed up.

Scoot,
I am in Tahoe all weekend and will not be at the meeting. Regarding the tank tour we could go to VW hacks shop and start there. 800 gallon SPS dominate tank.

Scott, I have been looking for lime in the sky for some time now. The only person I found that has it is Jason Fox. I just hate paying the $65 shipping.

I also have 3 one Gallon Bags stuffed with Chaeto if anyone needs at the meeting, did all my tank maintenance tonight and harvested the Arid Reactor. Just so I have a price for the Mods it is free 99:)

Anyone interested in 48" T5 Lamps, I should have 2xBlue Plus, 1 x Coral Plus, and 1 x Purple Plus. I'd like to sell them all together. $40 They are brand new.

I’m looking for 60” blue T5 used lamps to try out. New would be fine too but I have ballest and can get an idea from used fines.

Thank you Greg and SCMAS for the great meeting last night. Greg gave an interesting presentation on the history of high end designer corals and as usual many of the experienced members shared their own personal knowledge and experiences. Great raffle with a Rhomboid Wrasse and a MP-40 as the two highlights of the raffle along with several corals, anemones and some dry goods. Looking forward to next months meeting and the upcoming members tank tour.

The rhomboid I won. I put him inside a trap but the lid fell off. Hopefully my borb and leopard play nice with him

Sweet, hopefully I can join the next one. I always see the thread regarding the meeting a day or two after the meeting has passed. :headwally:
