Ive had an Aussie Scolly in my display tank for about 4 to 5 years without any issues ..around 2 weeks ago for some reason he started to detach from his skeleton , now he is completely released . amazing enough he is perfectly healthy and is doing well so far . my question is are there any suggestions on getting him to reattach .. is coral glue a possiblity

I have not heard of this problem with scolies but have heard of it with frogspawns and hammers. Previously, most were lost however Sk8ter (?) said she had success letting some float around and would rebuild a skeleton on their own.

Yeah, never heard this with a scoly... Check your parameters... they detatch for a reason.... Then find a nice place for it to sit, where it won't float away, and hope for the best. Probably best on the sandbed.

Coral glue probably won't work. You coral glue skeletons, not flesh. You'll just irritate it, and make it slime up, stressing it further.

Can you get a pic?

i'm really interested to hear how this turned out...has it died or is it still kicking and if so is there any sign of a new skeleton starting?

i have a bleeding apple that has receded on one side, not really sure what to make of it.. its low in tank with not a lot of direct flow. but there is a currrent around it. spot feed occasionally with pellets and mysis. otherwise seems healthy, but not growing.

Ebacon: I had this happen with a candy apple scoly as well but it seems to have stabilized. Did yours stop receding and if so how long has it been? Was wondering if its likely to be OK long term & if this is a case of STR. Mine lost maybe 10% of its tissue fairly quickly but saw no dead tissue peeling off just skeleton.
