Hi Pals , i need your advice and guide in the placement of my scolymia and acans .

There is a Vega Blue at 80 and a mp40 just above and it runs about 50% on lagoon .

1. My concern is mostly on flow and rock placement Sand is a high demand sq inch rent and i have lots of free space on the my rock.
--- Can i place my scolymias in rocks ?
----Can i place my Acan in rocks ?
---

2. Donut pink coral - i was told that it was the name of the coral bot i dont find much info about it can you helpme out .

3. There is a Orange scolymia next to the green open brain . Can you give me the opinion of it helt also for the green brain is light green .

4. What other corals can i place in my rockwork .
THANKS .

The donut pink coral is a lobo.

Most people put the corals you have on the bottom of the tank so they get less light. They also require little flow.

How long has your tank been up? Looks fairly young, just want to make sure your cycled and ready for corals.

The light green coral might be bleached (too much light). Look up what other people are running their Vega's at, I think 80% might be too high. If you tone down the light you can move your corals on the the rock work as long as they aren't getting too much flow.

Keep the galaxea away from any other corals, they will attack neighbors.

Let us know how its going and post pics. Starting off with some pretty awesome corals

You can place them anywhere you would like, I would keep the lights low unless you want to see some colors going downhill, when akitareefer says keep corals away from the galaxea, he means far away, those stingers go out really far and are very strong from what i have read.

I hope you have a siphon break on that return line. That needs to be pointed just under the surface otherwise.

akitareef thanks for the replay - yes i do understand to go lower with the vegas i will do a 60% - must people go x% because of the change between the MH to leds but i started from leds but to be safe is better go lower and then the rest.
The tank has been running for 5 months now . The rock looks fresh because that side has been in the tank for 2 weeks the other 66% rockwork has been since the begining . I have a 300g skimmer the tank is 140 G and 200 G in biochur biopelts - Soft corals have been doing good for the last 2 months and the only loose has been zoas but mostly for nudibranch .
it easy to reed the soft corals and flow they tell you right way how are them . but this acan as scoly still have poker face for me .
So can you let me know how does they look when they have to much flow .

yeah , that galaxea was a present from my wife - she was like here i brought you this because i like green . but well is a coral so is a gift to you -- dude i have a wishlist of corals and galaxea was not in it . And evethough is a beutiful green one i have seee their intention of those stinging arms of it . I still dont have any idea were to put it .

Okay so your off to the right start.

For deciding how much flow I would stick your hand in and feel the flow against your finger tips, if you feel pressure on them its probably too much (gosh its hard to describe flow).

If they aren't getting puffy the problem probably isn't flow. First make sure your parameters are on especially salinity 1.026 and alkalinity 8ish-10ish. Next, let's go back to lighting. MH are powerful but do not compare to LED. LED can be very intense and stressful. I made the same switch and certain corals were very sensitive others not. Keep them at the bottom until they get puffy during the day. Lastly some corals take a few days to a week to acclimate.

Hi guys , so i lower my vegas to 60% my salinity is al 1.025 have been like that since the start - alkalinity is on the range . Yeah i mean i dont know how they look when they are happy or when day are unconfortable - i get a feeling but are my first .

Can you check out this pics to see if they look healty when eating . I Feeding with a mix of cyclopeez and coral frenezy i also have purechem vitamins and selco and garlic but haven mix them for the coral food just with mysis for my fishis .

Is this allright or any other recomendation .

They look healthy to me but I don't think your acan is an acan. It could be an acan echinata (if it is, you might want to give it some room as well due to agression) but it looks like a mycedium to me.

If you want to you can feed the corals larger food, like mysis. Just turn off the pumps and squirt it on the and they'll bring it to their mouths.

I agree with previous post. Looks like chalice or echinata

That's not good. Can't see the picture. I would dip in coral RX or similar product. Set it in full shade with low flow, enough flow so it doesn't get infected. I would also do a 20% or more water change and check all parameters. Either somethings way off in your tank or it got stung by something. Is your refractometer calibrated properly? Is your alkalinity and pH in the correct ranges?

1. Dip in Coral Rx Done
2. Still trying to place corals in that perfect spot but it is vary vary hard.
3. A 10% water change is done weekly
4. Refractometer has been caliberated properly
5. Alkalinity is in 8 and ph is in 8 this are good numbers right ?

The lobo looks good know probably i just over reacted.
