Lots of beauties, but it's interesting to see how many of these are actually Cynarinas, not Scolymias. Even the red one I posted back when this thread first started is actually a Cynarina deshayesiana but was labeled as a Scoly by the LFS and wholesaler who imported it. Very common mistake.

This thread is going to need some major revisions once this genus gets straightened out:

The three I post at 08/06/2008 are Scolymia australis.

The two I post at 07/04/2008 are Scolymia vitiensis.

yep, anguswu, yours are definitely Scolys. It's nothing anyone should feel bad or dumb about-- I posted one I thought was a Scoly until I did a little research and learned more about the ubiquitous mis-IDing on these by collectors, importers, stores and hobbyists.

Regardless, they are all beautiful corals.

SICK.

The green/red combo is out of control on these guys! This is one coral that I'll miss with the addition of angels , but I just wont risk it.

Peter Im sure yours will start to feed. Sometimes they just take a little longer settling in than other corals IME, but yours still looks great and healthy!

Thanks. Yeah, I've only had it since Sunday. Never even imagined I would own one, or gave them much thought at all, but when I saw it brighter than anything else in the tank, and heard the price, I couldn't resist

whoa seapug I love the blue and red scoly. ive never seen that color morph.

I don't think its really blue and red. Unless sand the sand in the tank is blue as well.
