Scooter Dragonet: Flow and Substrate Requirements

I have recently acquired a red scooter dragonet. The fish is an adult female, who is a voracious eater of mysis, brine, and Cylop-eeze. I am at least her third owner.

I was going to put her in a dedicated 24 gallon Nano Cube (larger than the tank she has been housed in). The NC24 is a higher flow system with LEDs (4.5 watts per gallon): for SPS. It also, as a result of being a higher flow system, has 1-2mm aragonite substrate.

After watching her for a few days, I've become a bit concerned about her requirements with regards to flow and substrate. In my larger system the flow and lighting are lower, and the substrate is sugar sand.

She is presently housed in a 12 gallon Nano Cube for observation, which is the same tank she was being housed in with her previous owner.

When I move her, I would really like (what is hopefully her final move!) to house her in the dedicated system. Will she thrive in a system with higher flow, light, and coarser sand? Or, should I move her into the lower flow, lower light, sugar sand system?

Both systems have Apex controllers, which I have programmed a feed cycle into for her: so the pumps will shut off. Her food absolutely must reach the substrate.
