Scopas injured, will he be ok?

Not sure if there's really anything I can do about it now anyway, but thought I'd ask. My small scopas was nipping around trying to get some algae bits here and there. I have a couple of Seio 1500's in this tank and had problems with the sand blowing around, so I had them dialed back so that only the bottom and top slots were taking in water. This was already proving to be deadly to my snails as the increased pressure made it impossible for the snails to traverse across that area, they would get stuck there. Well, the scopas went to the same area and, you guessed it, got his little mouth sucked into this opening. Good thing my stepson was in the area and spotted him fairly quickly. I immediately cut the power to the pump and got the fish out of there. He is swimming around and at least trying to eat, but his pointy mouth area is all discolored. I'm worried that he may have tissue damage there that could continue to deteriorate. If it does, should I try to take him out there? And do what with him?

I had a Foxface do the same thing. He was freaked out for a day or two after the incident but didn't have any lasting effect.

If he seems to be having trouble breathing etc..I would remove him to a QT tank and monitor.

Maybe all scopas are just goofy. :) Mine got sucked onto my closed loop intake. I don't know how long she was on there since I woke up to find her like that. She was a little pale from the stress for a few hours but went right back to normal. We named her Checkers due to the grid pattern that resulted on her right side, and it's still there several months later.
