Take 2

Take 2

Lfs got this in today and I have it on hold again. I would say bigger then the last one and thicker as well. He was swaying back and forth while I was taking these shots.

They also have these two little guys. Their body is about the size of a dime or so.

D. zebra is not sexually dichromic/dimorphic, so I wouldn't keep two specimens in the same setup.

That first little fuzzy has a nice yellow stripe down its back. Looks like a little female, altho super small specimens sometimes fool you.

Dime-sized lions are really great, but are a bit more touchy in terms of being delicate and needing smaller food items. It's really cool to grow them up from that size tho.

Leaf fish will normally sway back and forth like that, esp. at first. Sometimes they sway super hard and fast when they see the food coming...almost to the point of "*** is wrong with that fish?".

Hey bud.

You have commented on my thread about my 300 gallon scorp tank recently.

With help from many people, I have complied my list of fishys.

I also have a Inimicus didactylus on my list, so I guess all these fish are compatible.

( Excuse me if some of the names are wrong, even after a few months of researching these fish, I am still uncertain of the exact / correct names )

Not to perpetuate a thread 'jack, but I think if you want a flasher, you should probably go with S. diabolus. S. macrochir may be a bit on the small side for that mix. Then again, one needs to keep "size differential" in mind when mixing Scorpaeniformes, regardless of species...

Sorry Rayn

My momma didn't raise no thread jacker. I am new to the whole message room scene. I appreciate the time both you and Greg had spent posting comments on my thread about scorps. I was just trying to return the favor.

That being said, thanks again Greg for the advice about the flasher. Maybe the one I posted would be more compatible for Rayn's set up.

Anyway I will be eagerly following along to see what you put in the tank.

Sorry again,

Shawn

I don't generally worry about thread jacks, sometimes you learn something you wouldn't have asked or thought of. Right now the inimicus is the only inhabitant in its tank. I would love to add a condylactus multibarbus, hope I spelled that all right, yet and be done. Those two crawling around would be cool to me.
As for the leaf I started a different thread about a leaf fish tank and namxas once again popped in and directed me the ways of scorps. I'm still new to the scorps scene and am learning as I go with a lot of help from here, but realizing that these fish are almost as or more interesting then the ones that are constantly out and about.

Heyas Rayn,

I got a much-needed Monday chuckle...you were halfway correct: multibarbus is indeed the specific name, however, condydactylus is an anemone.

The genus you're looking for is Choridactylus. Ghouls and goblins are indeed two of the "must-haves" IMHO. I actually have one of Renee's pix of one of our ghouls on my debit card, and you should see the double takes it gets when folks look at it!

Whopsee. Hey I got the C and the dactyls part. I actually have a email alert going with live aquaria and I have a "if you find it get it for me" order in at the lfs. Been that way for three weeks now with no luck so far.

Lots of them available here in the Philippines.

It's only a 13 hour flight. We can go diving until we find you one. That would be fun.

I wonder if there is a way I could ship one to you?

Shawn

Thanks for the offer, but I doubt it. Last time I tried a international ship it was a major hassle. The shipping, making it in time, the fact it is alive. If you don't have the licenses needed it is a big pain.
