Scotts Fairy Wrasse

Hi again,

I just could get a C. solorensis and a C. lubbocki.
Plus I can get a Parachelilinus carpenteri and/or filamentosus.

Which of these wrasses do you recommend now when I have my scotts which is doing very fine?

As for adding more wrasse, that's quite risky with Scott's. They are THE most aggressive Cirrhilabrus, and typically will not tolerate other wrasses.

Not even with an Acclimation Box?

My scotts is now for 6days in the tank and I could not see any aggressions. He doesnt burry himself in the sand at night, he just has his cave.

I think what Hunter was saying above is that the Scott's is a very aggressive fairy wrasse. You can probably introduce a female Scott's and your efforts will be aided if you use an acclimation box.

However, it will probably not tolerate other wrasses. Even if it's not causing a problem now, it is likely down the road. An acclimation box will not take care of that.

So the best thing is to decide whether you want this wrasse or others.

(By the way, fairy wrasses don't burrow. They sleep in the rocks.)

Ive heard I cant keep a maystery wrasse with Cirrhilabrus, is that correct?

Did no one had success in keeping scotts with other Cirrhilabrus yet?

I had a mystery with over 20 fairys and flashers, and the mystery was there first!... No problems

That would be my advice, yes.

Those should be fine together. Add the solorensis last.

I would not. All wrasses of the Psuedocheilinus genus should be avoided if you desire to keep other wrasses.

It can sometimes be done with certain specimens, but not if you add them first.

Don't feed for a day or so, and then use a baited fish trap. He'll eventually go in after the chow.

btw. what do you guys pay for a Cirrhilabrus rhomboidalis? I could get a supermale for 650euros !! that is so freakin expensive.

IMO , rhomboids are often difficult to acclimate to tank life, if possible try to get one that has been in captivity for awhile and no need for a supermale...most females will change anyway

Hi dudes

I just added a female C. solorensis and a C. exquisitus to my tank. Ive put these 2 in a acclimation box for a week. My C. scotturum is very cool and did not harass them. The first day he attacked the box for a few times. But then the scotturum came down and stopped attacking them in the box. I let them out on saturday and they are swimming together with no problems. The only fish which is not that lucky is my tomini tang and I dont know why atm. But its not a problem.

Hopefully I can add a C. jordani in a fwe weeks the same way.
