Scratches in my glass

Is there any way to polish out scratches in glass? Im starting to see scratches in my brand new tank that I was not able to see when it was delivered.

Not really in a feasible way.

Glass needs far less mindfulness to keep scratches off it. How are you cleaning it? Aragonite sand will scratch it if abused....

When I got it I used a cotton rag to wipe it down and nothing on tge inside since. tank is cycling with no light fixture. I put a flashlight on it tonight to see it lit up a little and that's when I noticed them. it must have happened when it was being built. they had problems with the front panel and had to recut it twice. I'm guessing by the 2nd time it went back to the glass shop they weren't being too careful.

There is a way to take scratches out of glass. Though is it worth it is the question? If its inside the tank forget it. I used cerium oxide without any effects on corals/inverts. My scratches were within the top 4th of the tank and were easy to access with a drill and a felt wheel. It's really not worth it though. Hairline scratches take 15minutes to completely be erased. And even still, since the cerium is cutting away small amounts of glass there will be a slight indentation. I haven;t noticed a magnifying effect but leaves a algae patch that I have to clean manually because my mag-float wont get it

Thanks for the responses. I realize that I am magnifying how the scratches appear right now because I am shining a flashlight directly on them. My new light fixture will hopefully be in next week and I am sure they wont be noticeable with normal lighting...at least I hope.

Water soluble diamond lapping paste should work, but it is expensive. I have used it for taking scratches and hairline cracks out of titanium. McMaster Carr sells it and according to their site it works well on glass. "Use on steel, ceramic, glass, silicon, and other hard surfaces."
