Scrath removal on a cylinder

My Lab decided to get a better look at my new tank and managed to make a few small and one long vertical (18-19 inch ) scratch.

I know you can buff scratches out of acrylic by sanding it down.

Any special considerations when doing a cylinder ? ( 40 inch Dia X 40 high)

Where do you get the sand paper that fits onto a electric car buffer ?

The acrylic is 1/2 in thick btw

wow, that's very encouraging to see done.

while I am at it I think I will polish the whole tank too

many thanks
